This year, CCEL’s student philanthropy programs provided the Greater Lansing community with back-to-school supplies and inclusive books for K–12 public schools. Thank you to all who supported these campaigns!
In August–September 2025, our 17th Annual “Fill the Bus” event aimed to give local students and families an equal start to the new school year. Fundraising is an important strategy for students to create social change, and donating to schools plays a crucial role in supporting teachers and enhancing the educational experience for all students. This year, we raised over $5,000 for new school supplies, which were equally split between the MSU Student Parent and Caregiver Resource Center, East Lansing Public Schools, and Lansing School District.
In January–February 2026, our 6th annual “Stuff the Library” event addressed the need to improve children's access to books. Starting during MSU’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, this event brings books featuring diverse perspectives and characters to school libraries. This year, we raised over $3,500 and collected donations from community members on and off campus to give over 350 new books to East Lansing Public Schools.
