Spartan Volunteer Corps

Two volunteers wearing light blue shirts with “HELPER” printed on them stand side by side indoors. They have name tags and are in front of a display with green graphics.
Spartan Volunteer Corps leader Savannah Kue and volunteer Jasmine Hightower participated in the February 13 Caring Through Service event at Breslin Center.

The new Spartan Volunteer Corps (SVC) brings together students on service projects centered on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The program was piloted by CCEL Assistant Director K.C. Keyton during the 2024-2025 academic year.

Ten student leaders recruited cohorts of volunteers, designed new projects in collaboration with community partners, and supported CCEL events throughout the year, such as the United Way Volunteer Fair, the February 13 Caring Through Service event at the Breslin Center, and Spartan Days of Service. These student leaders served as role models for creating social change through direct service. SVC meetings also provided opportunities for professional development, leadership training, and networking with community organizations.

Thank you to our student leaders and volunteers for joining this program as CCEL explores new ways to promote student leadership in community-engaged projects!
