America Reads/Counts Tutor
Role Overview
As an America Reads/Counts Tutor, you will work directly with K-12 students to help them improve their reading and math skills. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing support that helps students achieve academic success.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in classrooms during the school day or professional staff in after school programs
- Develop engaging lesson activities
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to students
This role is perfect for anyone passionate about education and enjoys working with children.

- Experience in tutoring or working with youth is a plus but not required—training will be provided!

- Complete the Criminal Background Check Authorization Form
- Complete: Intro to CCEL D2L Course (~30 minutes)
- Upload your certification to your Spartan Volunteer Portal
- Register and attend the one of the following Spring 2026 Information sessions/orientations
