Spartan Volunteer Corps
Spartan Volunteer Corps (SVC) is a brand-new initiative offered by the Center for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL). The corps will consist of 60 students, including 10 student leaders. SVC Leaders will play a pivotal role in designing new programs and enjancing existing ones that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Each of the ten SVC Leaders will receive a stipend of $250 per semester. They will also recruit and support a cohort of 5+ students, focusing on volunteering, community exploration, learning, and engagement.
Purpose
- To engage students in volunteering, educational programming, and professional development, fostering leadership within the community.
- To support students in promoting positive social change and community engagement.
Our SVC Leaders...
- Support a cohort of 5+ student members within the Spartan Volunteer Corps, facilitating their participation in regular volunteering opportunities.
- Identify up to three UN Goals that their cohort will focus on, implementing strategies throughout the academic year as part of CCEL's engagement calendar.
- Model leadership in social change processes for cohort members, encouraging them to become change agents themselves.
- Facilitate professional development workshops to empower others in their leadership journey.
- Attend professional development workshops and community partner meetings.
