Abigail Livingston
Environmental Studies and Sustainability, Anthropology
Abigail Livingston (She/Her) is a sophomore from Louisville, Kentucky. She has been involved with a variety of volunteering efforts since she was a child; refugee education, elderly support, and fundraising for the homeless. At MSU she is a double major in Environmental Studies and Sustainability, as well as Anthropology. Abigail is deeply interested in the intersection of human behavior and the natural environment. She believes community development is one of the best routes to explore this relationship in impactful ways and learn how to build a better future. Using this idea as a guide, Abigail has become involved in various environmental organizations in East Lansing, including the Daniella & Charlie Sunshine Garden. The Sunshine Garden is a community garden led by the Fledge, a local poverty initiative, and the Social Science Scholars at MSU that provides free and fresh produce to locals who live in food deserts. She has also been involved with the Allen Neighborhood Center's Hunter Park Garden House which is another community garden aimed to reducing hunger in the Allen Neighborhood of Lansing. Abigail is excited to start a new chapter of her volunteering journey at MSU with the Community Engagement Scholars.
