Campus Compact / AmeriCorps VISTA

Murriah Warren is the Center for Community Engaged Learning's Campus Compact/AmeriCorps VISTA. She specializes in the America Reads/America Counts program and is excited about supporting it after working as a mentor and tutor in Lansing public schools for three years. Murriah has also worked closely with the Adolescents Diversion Program at MSU in the intervention-based reform and advocacy/guardianship program within the Ingham County Juvenile Courts. Murriah's love for young people and her community stems from her Bachelor of Arts in psychology, which she earned in May 2025 from Michigan State University. She is now enrolled at MSU to pursue a master's degree in clinical social work.

Murriah's commitment to seeing the youth in her community flourish in all spheres—not just academically, but also in terms of their general health and well-being—is fueled by her education and experience in evidence-based trauma and Acceptance and Commitment Intervention practices and environments.   In addition to her duties at the CCEL office, Murriah loves working with people of all ages and backgrounds; it's a hobby, passion, dream, and reality all intertwined for her. She is excited to give back to and absorb knowledge from every community she is a part of, especially at MSU as a proud student, alum, and staff member!
