Kara MacKenzie is a Communications, Marketing, and Events Program Assistant with the Center for Community Engaged Learning.

Kara earned her BA in Professional & Public Writing and Women's & Gender Studies at MSU, where she became passionate about exploring the intersections between rhetoric and social justice. Before joining the CCEL team in 2023, she worked in various nonprofit communications positions, including with the MSU Center for Gender in Global Context, the Michigan Library Association, and the MSU Department of Writing, Rhetoric, and American Cultures.

In her free time, you can find her reading, playing volleyball, listening to international music, or tending to her large plant collection.
