Katie Burkhardt is the Democratic Engagement Coordinator with MSUvote, a committee partially administered through the Center for Community Engaged Learning. After graduating from Michigan State University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and an additional major in Sociology, she earned a Master of Arts in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago. Her academic focus on social movements, combined with volunteer work on a nonpartisan ballot initiative in Michigan, reinforced her belief in the importance of individual actions in shaping communities and public life. She is passionate about connecting students with opportunities to participate in the democratic process and helping students develop plans to make their voices heard through civic engagement and voting.
